Vicki Byard (she/her) moved to Oak Park in 2023, after retiring from Northeastern Illinois University, where she taught courses in writing, women’s and gender studies, and social justice. She is grateful to have found such a multi-faceted LGBTQ+ organization in her new community. She serves on the Board as secretary and is active on the scholarship, events, and gala committees. In addition to her Board service, she enjoys other volunteer opportunities, seeing plays, writing, and spending time with her two adult sons.
